GPS technology represents a true revolution in racing data acquisition. The GPS08 is more precise than most of the existing GPS systems out there, as it has been designed to add a band to the GPS satellite's signal, the Global Navigation Satellite (GLONASS) system's signal. With an average of almost 20 satellites working in conjunction, the GPS08 guarantees precision and  reliability simply not comparable to the previous generation GPS systems out there.

Here are some benefits of this GPS receiver's innovation...

- An average of less than three feet/one meter tolerance, which means absolute precision in determining the vehicle position in turns and when the finish line is very close to another track segment 

- Satellite signal is locked very rapidly. A few seconds after power-up, the GPS08 is ready to operate

- No risk of missing the signal anymore, as in cases of 'EM noise' or other interference on one system. With this GPS Antenna, the other system will guarantee the signal continuity

As soon as the GPS08 is switched on, it identifies its position and, if your track is included in the list of tracks stored in the RaceStudio 3 database, it will start sampling lap times. 
In fact, RaceStudio 3 stores the finish line coordinates (plus map, contact info, and logo) of almost 2,000 tracks, sorted by nation, circuit, and surface type. If you need to add one that's not in there... no big deal. You are able to create your own collections and add and move tracks around as you wish. 
Just upload your own selection to the AiM system and the GPS08 will be ready to hit the track!
Should your home track be missing, you can easily add it to your own tracklist when downloading your session files to RaceStudio and share the file with AiM, so that it can be added to the database for others.

The GPS08 samples at 10Hz (10 times per second) position, speed, and lateral/inline acceleration, at any point of the track. All the data needed for a precise evaluation of the vehicle and your driver's (which may be you, sorry) behavior, which is the necessary step to improve performance.
Thanks to the SmartyCam GPS08 Antenna, even the predictive lap timing function will be much more reliable and accurate. In any moment of the race, you/your driver will know your time differential versus your best lap with absolute precision.
